LightHouse Kids Announces Milo and the Thoughts That Tumble, Publishing September 30

Final cover revealed for the first title in Patrick Haven’s Milo’s Mindful Adventures picture book series

SAN PEDRO, Calif., Sept. 23, 2026 — PH Publishing Co. today announced the upcoming publication of Milo and the Thoughts That Tumble, a new children’s picture book written by Patrick Haven and illustrated by Alfian Dwi Anugerah. The book will be published September 30, 2026, by LightHouse Kids, the children’s imprint of PH Publishing Co.

Alongside the announcement, LightHouse Kids has officially revealed the book’s finalized front cover.

Written for children ages 4–8, Milo and the Thoughts That Tumble follows Milo as his thoughts begin to tumble, growing louder and harder to ignore. With the gentle guidance of Savi and the steady friendship of Finn, Milo begins to discover that he can slow down, notice a tricky thought, explore what is happening, and choose how to respond.

The book combines emotionally authentic storytelling with practical, repeatable tools that children and the adults who care for them can continue exploring beyond the story. Rather than interrupting the reading experience with instruction, the emotional framework is woven naturally into Milo’s experiences and relationships, preserving the warmth, imagination, and timeless qualities of a traditional children’s picture book.

“My background in clinical mental health counseling has shaped how I think about the importance of giving children and the adults who care for them language for conversations that can otherwise be difficult to begin,” said Patrick Venetz, Founder & Publisher of PH Publishing Co. “Our goal with Milo was never to turn a picture book into a lesson. We wanted to create a story children would genuinely enjoy, with ideas families could naturally return to afterward.”

Milo and the Thoughts That Tumble is the first title in Milo’s Mindful Adventures, a thoughtfully developed picture book series that helps children notice, explore, and respond to their thoughts and feelings through warm storytelling, trusted characters, and repeatable tools. Each story is designed to stand on its own while contributing to a shared emotional language that children and caregivers can revisit over time.

The paperback and hardcover editions of Milo and the Thoughts That Tumble are scheduled for publication September 30, 2026. The paperback will retail for $14.99 and the hardcover case laminate edition for $24.99. An eBook edition, priced at $7.99, is scheduled for publication October 14, 2026.

Print editions will be supported by Amazon retail distribution and IngramSpark wholesale distribution. The book is intended for families as well as educators, school counselors, children’s therapists, librarians, children’s ministry leaders, homeschool families, and community organizations seeking thoughtful stories that create opportunities for conversations about thoughts and emotions.
